More often than not inventories represent the largest single current asset on any balance sheet and are a key component when it comes to determining corporate profit. The ability to therefore control your inventory and have access to detailed up to the minute information is crucial. The ComOps BMS Inventory Control System allows management to more accurately scrutinise inventory requirements. On line, the application provides succinct information to better manage the accounting, planning and distribution activities of the business.
The ComOps Inventory system is multi-warehousing with full bin location management, costing, accrual receipting with calculation of cost of goods sold, bill of materials and a stock take subsystem.

Functions Within The Inventory Control Module
• Receive stock purchased with a purchase order.
• Receive stock without a purchase order.
• Receive goods before invoice (GBI).
• Receive goods after invoice (GIA).
• Receive goods with invoice (IWG).
• Receive invoice after goods (IAG).
• Receive invoice before goods (IBG).
• Return stock to supplier.
• Move stock between bin locations.
• Ad-hoc stock adjustments.
• Hard allocate stock to specific orders.
• Process manually prepared sales invoice.
• Process manually prepared credit note.
• Receive stock as a result of production activities optionally using bill of materials to determine component usage. Types of production include:
• Assemble
• Disassemble
• Build a serial numbered product
• Strip Down serial numbered product
• Cannibalise serial numbered product
• Repair
• Issue stock to job costing jobs (i.e. WIP) or to general ledger.
• Accumulate costs by shipment for apportioning over all stock items received on the shipment.
• Perform stock take using the stock take sub system actions consisting of:
• Freeze stocks (i.e. creates snap shot of stock to allow continued processing).
• Print stock worksheets.
• Enter stock counts.
• Print stock variance report.
• Apply variances.
• Report stock valuation.
• Clear stock-take data.
• Accept, edit & process the inventory effect of transactions generated by or entered in other BMS modules.

Features Of The Inventory Control Module
• Allows average, standard and FIFO costing methods selectable by product, warehouse or company.
• Goods are receipted in supplier’s currency.
• Calculates landed cost in local currency including: duty, freight and surcharge.
• Comprehensive accounting through to the General Ledger for receipting of Goods before invoice (GBI) & Invoice After Goods (IAG), Invoice Before Goods (IBG) & Goods after invoice (GAI) and invoice With Goods (IWG).
• Allows current and future list prices.
• Applies latest list prices automatically on the nominated effective date.
• Handles multiple suppliers per product with latest price, EOQ and lead times.
• Records the location of stock by bin with the option to allow multiple products per bin and/or multiple bins per product.
• Allows bin locations to be created when entering any stock movement.
• Indented bills of material for recording assembly of kits and pre-packs.
• Supports multiple re-order methods for calculating purchase order requirements based on stock on hand, back orders, forward orders, in transit stock, lot sizes and lead times. Includes a Time Phased Reorder Point (MRP) stock replenishment system.
• User defined ‘available stock’ evaluation.
• Supports batch, expiry date and serial number tracking.
• Makes available the following reports: Stock Evaluation, Stock Reconciliation, Stock Receipts Analysis, Slow Moving Stock and Gross Profit
• Includes a stock take sub system which provides stock count work sheets by warehouse, product group, product and bin location and includes both stock take variance reporting and automatic update of the general ledger.
• Extensive reporting capabilities including: Stock Valuation by Value and Quantity, Stock Reconciliation, Unpacking Advices, Consolidated Picking Lists and Gross Profit Report.
